With the DMCFS22's 3.0-inch touch-screen LCD, you can operate the AF and shutter release at the same time with just a touch. While playing back, you can quickly select an image to view by scrolling images. The Beauty Retouch Mode makes it possible to virtually makeup the faces. Various effects can be applied to the face including clearing the skin texture, whitening of teeth and so on. You can also choose the color of foundation, lips, cheeks or eye-shadow. With new Image Stamp function, you can decorate photos with various stamp design.
The DMCFS22 features a 4x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens from 28mm wide-angle (35mm camera equivalent: 28-112mm) and 16.1-megapixel high-resolution CCD. The 28mm wide-angle lens lets you easily capture large groups of people indoors or expansive architectural structures and scenes with dynamic width and rich perspective, even from short distance. Thanks to the Intelligent Resolution technology, the Intelligent Zoom extends the zoom ratio from 4x to 5x equivalent, maintaining the picture quality even combining a digital zoom.
The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. Apart from the digital image correction, the MEGA O.I.S. corrects a jolt of light axis by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to offset it. Thus the image is not affected digitally nor deteriorated at all. You get clear, sharp images in exchange for nothing. The MEGA O.I.S. lets you shoot in dimly lit rooms or evening illumination to preserve the mood, and works for macro shots and zoom shots, which are especially susceptible to hand-shake.
In iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, advanced detection functions work automatically and simultaneously to optimize your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful photos every time. iA Mode includes MEGA O.I.S. to detect hand-shake, Intelligent ISO Control to detect subject movement, Face Detection AF/AE to detect faces in the frame, AF Tracking to continually track a moving subject and keep it in focus with just a touch, Intelligent Scene Selector to detect scene conditions and Intelligent Exposure to detect the brightness level.
The DMCFS22 can record motion pictures in high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 24 fps in Motion JPEG format). The DMCFS22 can also upload movies onto YouTube, and photos onto Facebook. All you have to do is checkmark photos and movies you want to share and connect the camera or SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card to a computer. Uploading automatically starts just by following the guidance.
